House

Wood Hall is at the end of a mile long private drive and surrounded by six acres of private gardens. The main house has seven double bedrooms and six bathrooms, four of which are en-suite. There is also an adjoining apartment which has a double bedroom and single bedroom (with bunk beds) with a separate living room, kitchen, and bathroom making it completely self contained. The house and flat can be rented out together or separately.

Main House Ground Floor

The drawing room is a large space with comfortable seating and an open fire. A Bose sound system with iPod dock is also provided. There is also an upright piano.

The conservatory is next to the drawing room and where you can fully appreciate the magnificent views of the Lake District and admire Wood Hall’s stunning landscaped gardens below. There is a large sofa and coffee table which are perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or afternoon tea whilst taking in the incredible landscape before you.

The kitchen has a fully serviced Aga and a large convection microwave and an electric hob. There is also a dishwasher, full size fridge/ freezer, double sink and both an Aga kettle and electric kettle. The kitchen table can seat eight. The kitchen has French doors which open up into a large kitchen garden with vegetable patch and herb garden we invite guests to help themselves to. There is also a gas BBQ and outdoor dining area so on finer evenings you can enjoy eating outside whilst admiring the views that surround Wood Hall. The kitchen also has aRoberts digital radio and a television with freeview channels.

The dining room is a large and impressive room with an open fire and the extendable walnut dining table can seat up to eighteen.

The bathroom on this floor is in the hallway next to the dining room and also has a large shower.

The informal sitting/ TV room has a cosy wood burning stove and a 40 inch flatscreen TV with Sky channels and a DVD player. There are large comfortable sofas and a wide selection of DVDs. There is also a 6ft table tennis table and pool table as well as a selection of board games. A perfect room for rainy days and for those who want to unwind.

Round the back of the house there is a utility room with separate washing machine and tumble drier.

Use of wireless broadband internet is included and available throughout the house.

The back of the house has room to park up to 7 cars.

Main House First Floor

Wood Hall Master BedroomFour double bedrooms, three twin bedrooms, six bathrooms (four en-suite)

The master bedroom is a very large room with an en-suite bathroom (with separate bath and shower). This bedroom really benefits from the amazing views of the Lake District from the French doors that open up to a large balcony with outside table and chairs.

The second double bedroom looks out onto the kitchen garden and has an en-suite shower room.

The third double bedroom has a large window that looks out onto the beautiful views of the Lake District and has an ensuite shower room. This bedroom also has a small plasma television with digital freeview channels.

The fourth double bedroom also has the same amazing views of the Lake District and has an ensuite shower room.

The first twin bedroom is next door to the master bedroom and looks out onto the kitchen garden below.

The second twin bedroom can form part of a family suite with the second double bedroom as a door to a shared hallway means that this room could also use the en-suite shower room. This gives flexibility in that a couple could share the bathroom with their children in the twin room – or choose to leave the door closed for privacy.

The third twin bedroom has a view of the beautiful landscape of the National Park and has wooden floors. All the twin bedrooms have beds that are on wheels so can be easily moved together to make a superking size bed.

There is a family bathroom at the end of the corridor which has a bath with a showerhead. Those bedrooms without en-suites can also use the shower room on the ground foor.

All the double bedrooms come with hairdryers. There is a large bookcase in the hallway with a wide selection of books of all genres for you to borrow.

Self Contained Flat

The self contained flat is part of the main house yet has a separate entrance. The flat contains a double bedroom, single bedroom (with bunk beds) and bathroom with bath and shower. There is an open plan living room/ kitchenette which benefit from a large window that looks out onto the beautiful landscape of the National Park. The living room has a television with freeview channels. The kitchenette has a fridge, oven, hob, kettle, microwave and toaster.

This flat is suitable for a couple in your party who perhaps have a young baby or children and want a bit more extra space or privacy. The flat can be rented out with the rest of the house and can also be rented out separately. Please note if you rent only the flat you will not have access to the main house’s gardens but just the large orchard at the back of the house.

Dogs and Babies

Wood Hall is dog friendly although limited to two dogs per booking and we request that no dogs be allowed in the bedrooms.

Wood Hall provides a cot, changing table, high chair and Avent microwave bottle steriliser. We can also recommend a local babysitter if you would like an evening out. The self contained apartment also provides a travel cot. There is also a children’s play area in the back orchard comprising of a slide, swing, double swing and climbing rope (access is only for those who have rented out the apartment or house and apartment).

If you require a cook during your stay please mention this in your booking and we can give you our shortlist of highly recommended local cooks (their fees vary) who can meet all your catering needs, from doing all the food shopping to making three course meals and all the tidying up afterwards.
